Welcome to the home of the San Fernando Valley Master Chorale, Terry Danne, Artistic Director.

The San Fernando Valley Master Chorale is auditioning singers for its 2014 - 2015 season.  Soloists will be heard on Saturday, September 27 by appointment (between 3-6PM) at the Rage Entertainment Complex (16911 Devonshire St, Granada Hills 91344; cross street is Balboa, behind IHOP, block east of Balboa, entrance off Balboa), and ensemble singers on Monday, September 29 at 7PM at the Woodland Hills United Methodist Church, 5650 Shoup Ave, Woodland Hills 91367 (east side).  Call Linda at (818) 348-6138 , (818) 970-6581c to schedule an appointment.

The season will include the Rutter ‘Requiem’ in November, Handel’s ‘Messiah’ in December, and the world premier of a new work by composer-in-residence Sergio Barer in May.  Soloists will be needed for all works.

The Chorale, Terry Danne, Artistic Director, is an auditioned chorus with 50 to 80 singers participating.  They perform musical theater, choral masterworks with orchestra, jazz, and opera highlights programs.  The group is comprised of professional and community singers and students, and showcases resident company soloists as well as guest performers.

The last several years have seen the Chorale performing at Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in New York, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and the John Anson Ford Amphitheater in Los Angeles, and at the American Choral Directors Association Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii.  They recently hosted a national workshop in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Their stirring performances of Orff’s Carmina Burana, Verdi’s Requiem and the Duke Ellington Sacred Concert at the John Anson Ford Amphitheater were enthusiastically received by audience and critics alike.

Members of the Chorale and Orchestra have been invited to make a number of guest appearances - most recently, a nationally-televised concert for the government of Mexico in Baja California in December 2013.  This season, they will be performing a number of run-outs: to Canada with international recording artist Saeed Mohamadi; to Mexico for the government; and to the Midwest for a five-day tour of the Ellington ‘Sacred Concert’ with a big-band in June.

The Chorale rehearses on Monday nights in Woodland Hills.  The award-winning group is celebrating their 25th anniversary season.  Some paid positions are available.i
